The Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Diran Odeyemi, said those who had promised to deliver the South-West votes to Buhari were deceiving him.

Speaking in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH in Lagos on Friday, the PDP spokesperson stressed that Atiku would defeat Buhari in the South-West and in other geo-political zones.

The Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, on Thursday, said Buhari would win convincingly in the South-West because he had performed well in the region, adding that Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo is a Yoruba man from the region was another factor.

Odeyemi said, “Governor Abiola Ajimobi, who is promising Buhari the votes of the South-West people, has just one vote and he knows that he is deceiving Buhari because he wants to get something. But they will be shocked after the election. Atiku will shock them in the South-West. The people of the South-West are waiting for the election to send them (APC) out because of the hardship the APC governors in the South-West states have inflicted on them.

“The maladministration of the APC in the states in the South-West will not make people to vote for Buhari and the APC in the coming elections.

“What has been the contribution of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo? What political influence did he have before he became the Vice President and even now? Has his political profile been upgraded in any way? Osinbajo is not a political giant to be afraid of and he has no string to pull in the South-West. Not even (Asiwaju Bola) Tinubu, their godfather, can sway the people of the South-West to vote for Buhari.”

Dino Melaye speaks on dumping PDP, returning to APC dino melaye 1024x649

Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Dino Melaye, has denied allegation that he was planning to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Melaye made the denial on Monday via his official twitter handle.

According to him, only ‘foolish and stupid’ people will decamp from PDP to APC.

The Senator also stated that APC will be defeated in forthcoming Kogi governorship election.

“Only compound fools and people with degree in stupidity will leave PDP for APC. APC will be defeated in Kogi State,” Melaye tweeted.

Recall that the Senator rejected the party’s appointment as the Director-General of the Kogi State PDP Governorship Campaign Council.

His tweet last Friday rejecting the offer sparked speculations that the Senator might dump the PDP.

He had tweeted, “Let me state categorically that I have turned down the position of the Director-General of the Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council.

“I wish PDP all the best.

“When truth is a casualty, there is chaos.”
