Nigerian artiste, Oluwademilade Alejo popularly known as Ycee has released his much more anticipated new song, ‘Balance’ to celebrate his birthday. Ycee who turned 26th today, January 29, released ‘Balance’ off his new album.

Recall that the ‘Omo Alhaji’ crooner recently announced his exit from Tinny Entertainment to own his independent record label, ‘Ain’t Nobod Badder Than’. The 26-year-old singer rose to limelight after one of his singles titled “Condo”, which features vocals from Patoranking, earned him two nominations at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

He was also nominated in the “Best Artist in African Pop” category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards. In October 2016, YCEE signed a record deal with Sony Music while he was also nominated in the “Next Rated” category at The Headies 2016 in the same year.

YCEE was born in Festac Town, a town in Lagos State, Nigeria, where he completed his basic education at Dr. Soyemi Memorial Nursery and Primary School. He went on to complete his secondary education at the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Ojo. He is currently studying Marine biology at the University of Lagos.

YCEE started his music career in 2012 as an underground rapper prior to signing a music contract with Tinny Entertainment. Due to his educational engagements, he took time off music after gaining admission to the University of Lagos. In May 2015, YCEE made a comeback after releasing the critical acclaim song “Condo”; the song was nominated in the “Best Collaboration of The Year” and “Best Music Video of The Year” categories at the 2015 Nigeria Entertainment Awards.

On 20 July 2015, he released a single titled “Jagaban” which received massive airplays and made him more popular among music critics, including Olamide who asked to be featured on the remix. His career further hit the limelight after he was nominated for Revelation of the Year at the 2015 edition of the MTV Africa Music Awards, as well as earning a nomination in the “Best Artist in African Pop” category at the 2015 All Africa Music Awards.

YCEE did his Juice Concert on 12th of January, 2018 at the “O2 Academy” 16, Parkfield St. London N1 OPS. With lit performances from YCEE’s label mate, Bella Alubo, Sona, Eugy, Ms Banks and Flosha. On January 15th 2019, YCee announced via his Instagram handle that he had left his former label Tinny Entertainment to open his own Label ANBT (Ain’t Nobody Badder Than) Company.

The multi-award winning hip hop singer Rihanna has lent voice to the ongoing massacre in Nigeria via her Twitter handle @rihanna on Wednesday morning.

Rihanna tweeted a blood stayed Nigeria flag and a graphic that has the inscription of her wish to Nigerians who are suffering police brutality.

Twitter CEO, Jack Dorsey tweets ‘#EndSARS’ again after being threatened by former presidential aspirant Garba Adamu

Twitter CEO has tweeted his support for the #EndSARS movement again after being threatened by former presidential aspirant, Adamu Garba.

 

Garba asked Jack Dorsey to stay away from Nigerian politics and threatened to sue him for supporting a protest that “has transformed into a political agitation, capable of breaking law and order in the country”

The threat came after Dorsey tweeted support for the protests holding in Nigeria to end SARS and police brutality.

 

Following Garba’s threats, Dorsey tweeted again.

 

“#EndSARS” he wrote simply with an emoji of a raised fist in the colours of the Nigerian flag.
