Chelsea star Eden Hazard this afternoon reached and subsequently surpassed a hugely-impressive milestone in his club career, after netting a brace versus Huddersfield. The Blues welcomed Premier League basement-dwellers Huddersfield to Stamford Bridge a short time ago.

Chelsea headed into the clash desperate to return to winning ways, after being thoroughly-embarrassed en route to a 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Bournemouth last time out. And, in the end, get back to winning ways was exactly what the hosts managed, in absolutely ruthless . The capital giants took the lead this afternoon with just 9 minutes on the clock, when Gonzalo Higuain opened his account for the club with a superb rifled finish from a tight angle.

Chelsea went on to double their lead on the stroke of half-time, when Eden Hazard dispatched from the penalty spot. Hazard subsequently went doubled his tally for the day with his 2nd with 66 minutes on the clock, before Higuain also notched his brace less than 5 minutes later.

And an utterly-dominant performance on the part of the Blues was rounded out 5 minutes from time, when David Luiz got in on the scoring with a deflected header from Willian’s corner.Chelsea’s win, meanwhile, also saw the club’s star man, Eden Hazard, surpass a massively-impressive career milestone.

In netting his first goal of the day, Belgian attacker Hazard reached the mark of 200 direct contributions to league goals over the course of his club career:

And Hazard went on to make it 201 with his 2nd this afternoon.Β It was a much-needed victory for Maurizio Sarri whose methods have come under intense scrutiny of late with some suggesting post-Bournemouth that his could be on the line if results and performances didn’t improve quickly.

That Higuain played a big part in Chelsea getting back to winning (and scoring) ways in the Premier League will have only made the three points even sweeter for the Chelsea boss given it was he who pushed so hard for the Argentine’s signature.

At the start of the season, it looked as though Hazard might finally blossom into a player capable of scoring 20 plus goals in the Premier League as he racked up seven goals in his opening eight games. The goals soon dried up, though, with Hazard going seven without another until registering against Brighton in mid-December.

The arrival of Higuain has enabled him to move back to his best position on the flank and should help him rediscover his scoring touch. His first was an ice-cool penalty, dispatched after he himself had been brought down but the second highlighted how Higuain’s role can help him out, as he ghosted in off the left and into space before rounding Lossl and passing a finish into the net.

A Turkish club make WRONG signing as two players have the same name 🀣 Laurent Koscielny 1024x576

The transfer market is full of stories, recently a Turkish club sign a new player but something goes wrong.
The market of signings in Europe can convulse with so many names that are rumoured, the clubs must be very attentive to the movements that they make because the resumes of the soccer players come and go and can even be confused.
This happened to Menemenspor, a second division club in Turkey, who announced in recent days a major signing, but things changed quickly when he realized that the player was not what he appeared to be.
Of course, the soccer player did not blame him. It turns out that Menemenspor wanted to incorporate Lamin Jallow, a player born in Gambia and who plays for Salernitana in Serie B of Italy. Thus, the emissaries of the club of Turkey began the contacts to contract.
After days of talks, Jallow travelled to Turkey, performed the medical tests, signed his contract and was presented, with official photo and T-shirt, as a new Menemenspor player. But to our surprise, the Turkish leaders realized a serious mistake: the Jallow they signed was not Lamin, it was Alpha, a footballer of the GD Alcochtense, club of the Regional First of SetΓΊbal, in Portugal.
But the Turkish club did a trick to correct his mistake and terminate the contract of Alpha Jallow, pretending that the player had a problem in medical examinations and thus having an excuse to reverse their relationship.
