Buhari promised not to change during the All Progressives (APC) presidential campaign at the Aper Aku Stadium in Makurdi, Benue State. He pledged to remain steadfast and focused. Listing his administration’s achievements in the past three and half years, the President said: “I assure you, I am not going to change. I am going to be consistent. I will remain steadfast. Anybody who abuses trust will be exposed and will be dispossessed.
“I am convinced that you believe in what we are doing and that you stand to support us even further. When I came for your vote in 2015, I promised three fundamental issues based on our party manifesto –  security, and fighting corruptionWe will do roads, rail lines and provide electricity with monies recovered from looters,” he added
He noted that the food security attained by the government under his watch had drastically reduced food importationThe President noted that many of those seeking white-collar jobs had embraced farming without regrets. He urged others to do the same.
The President also urged the Benue people to vote for APC candidates.
APC National Chairman Adams Oshiomhole said that governors have the responsibility to ensure peace and security in their states, noting that security is not on the exclusive list. Many Nigerians, he noted, are now running away from lodging their money in banks because of the fear of Buhari.

He said: “Mr President, you promised to provide infrastructure, that is why we call you Mr. Infrastructure, and it’s all over the country for people to see. You are a doer and not a talker. Your projects are measurable.”

He, therefore, urged the leaders not to hide their incompetence behind the crisis.
Giving a verdict of how the voting will go in the state during the presidential , Akume said that 70 per cent will go to President Buhari while Atiku will get 30 percent.
He also urged the President to ignore any publication because they know how they were procuredMaintaining that there are local despots who do not respect court orders in the state, the former governor said that President Buhari respects the rule of law, especially by not interfering in the INEC and court judgement on APC governorship candidate in Zamfara State.
Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong said his state initially was faced the type of crisis Benue was going through until he brought everyone together for dialogue.
He also pointed out that some people hid under the guise of a crisis when the state was not paying salaries.
Urging the people of Benue State to vote for Buhari and the governorship candidate of the APC, he assured that they will deliver 90 per cent in Plateau and 80 per cent in Benue.
The Chairman of the Benue State chapter of the APC, Abba Yaro, assured that the state would vote President Buhari and the governorship candidate.

Ministerial screening: Drama as Dino Melaye asks Keyamo to recite National Anthem

ministerial screening: drama as dino melaye asks keyamo to recite national anthem Ministerial screening: Drama as Dino Melaye asks Keyamo to recite National Anthem Dino Melaye 1024x576

There was a mild drama at the Senate on Friday as Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial district, Dino Melaye demanded that one of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s ministerial nominee, Festus Keyamo, recite the National anthem.

NAIJAsurf Wears

Keyamo, who is among Buhari’s 43-man list submitted to the Senate on Tuesday for screening and approval, appeared before members of the upper legislative chamber on Friday.

Melaye told Keyamo, “I know you to be intellectually , I want you to recite the national anthem.”

However, President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, overruled Melaye’s request.

Lawan said that the request was not a question.

Keyamo is the 28th nominee that has so far been screened by the Senate.

Recall that Keyamo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, and lawyer to the All Progressives , APC, had a serious argument with Melaye on a national television prior to the 2019 general elections.

Ministerial nominees: Why Senate must return list to Buhari – PDP in Diaspora

ministerial nominees: why senate must return list to buhari – pdp in diaspora Ministerial nominees: Why Senate must return list to Buhari – PDP in Diaspora buhari worried 1024x576

A US-based organization comprising members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, known as PDP Diaspora Initiative has called on the Senate to return the ministerial list back to President Muhammadu Buhari on the ground that it is lacking in vision and ambition for the nation.

NAIJAsurf Wears

President Buhari had on Tuesday submitted a list of 43 nominees to the Senate for screening and approval.

A statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Chidi Igwe, the organization said that the list of candidates submitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation betrays the future of Nigeria and has nothing to offer to the nation in the form of change.

The statement added, “In other countries like Canada, France and the United States, women and youth are fully involved in government because they represent the future of the country.

“Why is President Buhari not nominating young people who represent the future of Nigeria? Why is APC robbing Nigeria’s youth of their future?”

The PDP group referred to President Buhari’s previous comments at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London where he allegedly described the Nigerian youth as “lazy and uneducated.”

“Why is the President not including more women in his cabinet?”

The statement also referred to President Buhari’s previous public comment in Germany where he said that the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari belonged in the “kitchen” and “the other room.”

“Why are they recycling these tired APC politicians who have no new ideas to offer and have participated in establishing a culture of corruption and impunity in Nigeria?” Hon. Pamugo asked.

“President Buhari has chosen to recycle these politicians who have been there for too long and have participated in driving the country into the ditch, instead of giving a chance to capable Nigerians who will represent change,”

The statement further referred to the fact that the nominees are a bunch of men, former governors, ministers and APC politicians who have contributed in creating the current problems facing the country.

It added, “Nigerians are suffering from East to West, North to South as a result of lack of vision and leadership from these same APC politicians.

“People have no jobs, no food and no good water to drink.

“There is no reliable power supply for businesses to come and invest in the country. There are no good hospitals, no good public schools.

“We have no good roads. Nigerians are hungry for change. Is this the best that the President can offer to a nation that desperately needs a significant change in direction? As Nigerians in diaspora, we are highly disappointed by this list of recycled APC politicians.

“This list is shortsighted and we reject it. We enjoin the Senate to return it to the President so that he can provide a new list of nominees that will represent the hopes and aspirations of all Nigerians.”
