Ahead of the 2019 elections, Wizkid has aired his views on ongoing political issues being debated in preparation for Saturday’s Presidential election. He has informed Nigerians to vote for who they feel is capable of moving the country forward.

Recently, Davido publicly stated his preferred candidates for the elections and even revealed that he is being threatened over his political disposition but he remains fearless.

In a recent post shared on his Snapchat, the Starboy advised Nigerians not to sell their votes and to vote wisely.

He warned that no one should vote a candidate endorsed by celebrities because they have been paid for it.

He urged Nigerians to vote any presidential candidate who is capable of thinking and would move the country forward.

The ‘Fever’ crooner also warned leaders of the country to own up to their responsibility to serve the people.

“Don’t let anyone wey don collect money influence your vote to tell you who’s right or not. Use your head.

“Vote wisely, I’m for whoever the people vote.

“If you’re old to vote, you’re old enough to think. Don’t sell your vote, your vote can make a difference.

“And politicians wey they enter stop joking with peoples lives! You are responsible for the lives of millions of people and your decision affects all.

“Help us make Nigeria a better place, make una use your head. One love!”

On 5 March 2013, Charles Mgbolu (a writer for Vanguard) reported that Wizkid established his label imprint Starboy Entertainment. During an interview with Silverbird Television, Wizkid told Yvonne Vixen Ekwere that he planned on signing new acts to the label. Wizkid told Showtime Celebrity that he established his own record label to give up-and-coming artists a platform to showcase their talent. On 17 April 2013, Wizkid signed Maleek Berry to Starboy Entertainment. Wizkid and Maleek Berry’s work credits include “Lagos to Soweto” and “The Matter”, among others.

On 29 April 2013, Premium Times reported that Wizkid signed producers Uzezi Oniko and Okiemute Oniko, popularly known as Legendury Beatz, to his imprint. He made the announcement via Twitter. On 9 May 2013, he unveiled photos of himself with the aforementioned acts signed. On 20 August 2013, Wizkid signed recording artist L.A.X to the label. He made the announcement moments after debuting the music video for “Caro”, the label’s first official single. On May 7, 2016, Wizkid announced the signings of Efya, R2Bees, and Mr Eazi to Starboy Entertainment. He made the announcement shortly after his performance at the 17th edition of the Ghana Music Awards

End SARS: Looters of NYSC camp will be apprehended, prosecuted – IGP, Adamu

The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has said that hoodlums who made away with items meant for corps members would be arrested and made to face the law.

Adamu said this on Friday after inspecting the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) camp in Kubwa, Abuja, NAN reports.

“It is very unfortunate that the camp was looted as we went round to see the destruction made by the hoodlums.

”The camp meant for the training of youths to enable them contribute to the development of the country has turned out to be the focus of looters.

“However, it is a good thing that corps members were not in camp during the unfortunate incident because it would have been a disaster,” he said.

He also revealed that some of the items have been recovered, while some of the hoodlums have been arrested.

“A total number of 53 suspects have been arrested so far and would be charged to court.

“I urge Nigerians to report anyone suspected to be in possession of the looted items to the nearest law enforcement agency.

“For those hoodlums who broke into this facility and stole, we will ensure that we track them and prosecute them,” Adamu added.

Osun Govt Begins Payment Of New Minimum Wage From November 1, Lifts Embargo On Promotions, Conversion

The Osun State government on Friday announced that with effect from November 1, it will begin the payment of new minimum wage to its civil servants throughout the state.

The government also announced the lifting of the ban on annual salary increment and also embargo on promotions and conversions with immediate effect in order to encourage workers in the state.

The state government said these decisions followed the perusal of the recommendations of the government/labour committee that was set up to work out the modalities for resolving all workers’ welfare-related issues.

The state governor, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, who announced the state government’s decision in his Twitter handle, further said he hoped the decision will make the workers to continue to put in their best in the state,

According to his tweet: “I’m delighted to announce that the implementation of the new minimum wage for Osun State workers will commence on November 1, 2020.

“This follows the perusal of the recommendations of Government/Labour Committee that we set up to work out the modalities for resolving all workers’ welfare-related issues.

“Additionally, we’ve lifted the ban on annual salary increment which was done in 2012. Embargo on promotions and conversions is also lifted with immediate effect. This is in fulfilment our administration’s pledge to give the welfare of our workers the deserved attention.
