Chelsea fans turned their anger onto under-fire manager Maurizio Sarri during the 2-0 defeat to Manchester United on Monday night as frustrations grow over the Italian’s style of play and refusal to adapt his system. There are rumors that certain players have grown frustrated to the managers philosophy and refusal to play world cup star N’golo Kante in his preferred position.
Arsene Wenger would be a great fit for Chelsea according to former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman. The former Napoli manager is facing an uncertain future in west London with Sunday’s League Cup final against Manchester City, just two weeks after losing 6-0 to the Premier League champions, growing in significance.
Wenger, who has not returned to management since leaving north London after 22 years last summer, has kept his cards close to his chest regarding what will come next for his career, and while it would be unlikely, Seaman thinks he would do well at Stamford Bridge.
“Arsene always said he wouldn’t come back to the Premier League because of his love for Arsenal, that he wouldn’t feel right competing against Arsenal,” Seaman told Talksport. “But obviously time’s a healer and he could think, ‘I want to go back there and prove a few people wrong. For me, Arsene got a lot of criticism that wasn’t deserved over his last few years at Arsenal.’
“It looks like there could be a vacancy at Chelsea quite soon, depending on their next three games which are three big games for Chelsea. He’d be great there, I think. He’d be great anywhere, he’s a fantastic manager. I would love to see him back, but I don’t think it would happen.” Maurizio Sarri admits he is unsure how long he will remain in charge at Stamford Bridge after successive defeats to his Chelsea led side.
“I have to think that I will be the manager of Chelsea for a long time, otherwise I cannot work,” Sarri told a press conference on Wednesday. “I am not sure (if I will be here for a long time), but I have to think this. I have to work and I want to work with a long-range target. Of course in this moment it’s very difficult to think we’re able to win three, four matches in a row. As you know very well in football everything can change in one day. I think we need first of all a good performance, a good result and with more confidence we are able to do anything.”
Do you think Wenger will be an ideal fit for Chelsea? Should Chelsea stick to Sarri?
EPL: Chelsea finally tell Real Madrid how much to pay for Hazard
Real Madrid will have to pay a huge amount to sign forward, Eden Hazard, away from Premier League giants, Chelsea this summer.
The Spanish giants are eyeing Hazard as a replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who after nine years, left the Santiago Bernabeu for Juventus in an £88million deal last summer.
According to Belgian outlet, HLN, Chelsea wants at least £98.5million for Hazard after rejecting Real Madrid’s opening offer for the 28-year-old.
Hazard is a huge admirer of Zidane as a coach and named the French legend as his idol growing up.
