The statement quoted Atiku as saying: “I have just inaugurated my Legal team, and charged them with the responsibility of ensuring that our stolen mandate is retrieved. I am encouraged by the presence of fearless men and women of the Bench. The Judiciary, which had in the past discharged itself ably, is once again being called upon to deliver judgement on this matter that will be untainted by lucre, and uncowed by the threat of immoral power.”

The Federal Government and Organised Labour have reached an agreement on the percentage increase on the consequential adjustment in workers’ salaries based on the new minimum wage of N30,000.
The two sides to the dispute, who have been at the negotiating table in the last few months, eventually reached an agreement late on Thursday.
According to the new template, workers on Grade Level 07 will get 23.2 per cent consequential adjustment; Grade Level 08, 20 per cent; Grade Level 09, 19 per cent; Grade Levels 10 to 14, 16 per cent; and Grade Level 15 to 17, 14 per cent.
The Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, has while the meeting was on tweeted that an agreement had been reached.
Keyamo said on his handle: “After some delicate negotiations (with both ministers as conciliators), the government and labour have finally reached an agreement on the consequential adjustment of other wages following the implementation of the enhanced minimum wage of N30,000. We are working on the communiqué.”
Following on this, the of the Trade Union , Quadri Olaleye, and the Secretary General, Musa-Lawal Ozigi, issued a statement confirming the agreement.
The statement read: “We commend the Head of Service of the Federation, Dr Folashade Yemi-Esan, and her team for their sincerity. Though they argued that the government could not afford to meet our earlier demand of N30,000 minimum wage across board because of the economic situation in the country, we made them understand that some people could not be more Nigerian than others. If we are tightening our belts, government should also do so.”

of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, on Wednesday said that would need prayers to overcome its current challenges.

Lawan said this when a delegation of the Christian Legislators’ Fellowship of the National Assembly visited him.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser (Media) Ola Awoniyi, he said, “given the situation we are in today, the various challenges that Nigeria and its people face, we even need to pray more.

“Today, we face serious security challenges. Where we have security agencies, which are mandated to ensure that we are secured and protected, if nothing, we should pray for them that they are able to perform well.

“It is not only in empowering them with weapons; the power of God is beyond weapons.

“I’m sure that all people of faith will continue to pray for our security agencies to protect us,” he added

Lawan also stated that as leaders, they had the responsibility to ensure that they provided leadership, to continue to seek the intervention of God in the way and manner that we lead our people.

“We have to do whatever we can to be as truthful, transparent and accountable to our people,” NAN quoted him as saying.
