The All Progressives Congress have launched a counterattack against the main opposition after some damning evidences were laid against them. Recall that the PDP national legal adviser, Emmanuel Enoidem, had in a petition to the tribunal requested that Atiku be declared the winner of last month’s poll. He stated in the party’s 139-page petition that, “From the data in the 1st respondent’s (’s) server the true, actual and correct results from state to state computation, showed that Atiku polled a total of 18,356,732 votes to defeat Buhari whom they said scored 16,741,430 votes.”

Now, the APC has said the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have slipped into a state of depression and hallucination with their recent utterances. The ruling party said that was evident in their relentless efforts to discredit the “credible” February 23 presidential elections as acknowledged by local and international observers.

The former Vice President had claimed figures on Independent National Electoral Commission’s server showed he won the election with over 1.6 million votes margin. But the APC in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, said it sympathised with Atiku for the crushing defeat handed him by President Muhammadu Buhari through the votes of Nigerians.

“Judging by Atiku and PDP’s recent utterances and actions, it is now clear that they have slipped into severe depression and post-defeat hallucination that have left many Nigerians questioning their current state of mind. After weeks of dilly-dallying, the PDP has woken up to the stark reality of its electoral defeat and decided to follow the constitutional path of filing a petition at the Election Tribunal.

“However, of all the prayers of Atiku before the Election Tribunal, which are at best hollow, the most ridiculous is his claim that the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission indicated he ‘won’ the Presidential Election by 1.6million votes. A few questions would suffice: Is this phantom figure of 1.6million votes Dubai-invented? Was the result sold to Atiku by his numerous marabouts, who we understand, had assured him that the last election was a done deal for him?”

The APC said it had noted Atiku’s consistent reference to the “INEC server” as if he was the custodian of that platform. Indeed, Atiku’s constant reference to the INEC server should raise concerns as it is becoming apparent that he and the PDP are up for some dastard activities that are targeted at jeopardising the INEC database and internal storage system.

Yekini Nabena, a spokesperson of the All Progressives Congress (APC), accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate in the just concluded general election, Atiku Abubakar, of hacking into the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Nabena made the allegation on Wednesday in reaction to the claim by the PDP that Atiku Abubakar actually won the 2019 election from what the INEC server showed.

He wondered how the opposition political party could have gotten the figure without hacking into it. Nabena wrote on his handle: “Just tell me how Atiku and the PDP would bring out figures from INEC server without having access to it. Atiku recruited RUSSIAN HACKERS for #NigeriaDecides2019. But, GOD pass them.”

@OfficialPDPNig had enlisted the services of some hackers from Russia with a view to compromising the servers of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC in next February’s general elections.

“We recall the widespread reported cases of several programmed card readers that were retrieved from some PDP agents and their failed attempt to hack the INEC database in the leadup to the then postponed presidential election. We remind the Atiku and PDP that Nigerians saw through the devious schemes aimed at thwarting their will. Consequently, the majority of the voters handed them a harsh verdict — that verdict remains sacrosanct.” The party called on the INEC and the security agencies to be on red alert to ensure that Atiku and the other desperate characters in the PDP were not able to execute their “evil plans.”

ex-senate president warns tinubu against running for president in 2023 Ex-Senate President warns Tinubu against running for President in 2023 tinubu 1024x555

Former Senate , Dr Iyorchia Ayu has warned the national leader of the All Progressives , APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, against running for president in 2023.

According to him, Tinubu’s quest to takeover power from President Muhammadu Buhari will erode the political gains he made so far.

He urged the APC national leader to rather support vice president Yemi Osinbajo to succeed President Buhari.

Aye, who also served in three different portfolios as minister in the cabinet of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, also expressed worry that Tinubu has aligned himself with the ‘most backward forces’ in ’s political history.

He said the political group which he has aligned himself with, will soon turn against him.

“Bola Tinubu is my brother, an excellent man, politically clever and hardworking. He has been very successful in his private life.

“But I think like I said in one of my earlier interviews, he has aligned himself with the most backward forces in Nigeria’s political history.

“Rather than liberal and progressive wing of the north, this right wing group he is working with will soon turn against him and destroy him.

“His (Tinubu’s) ambition which is becoming blind will contribute to that self-destruction. He will lose most of what he has gained as a political leader.

“If he has my opinion, I will advise him to continue to play the role of a political leader, but not aspiring to be a government leader.

“He should promote and support the candidature of Yemi Osinbajo, who is obviously an intelligent and competent person,” the ex- Senate President told Nigerian Tribune.

Osun Guber!!! Aregbesola talks about Adeleke’s victory over Oyetola Governor Rauf Aregbesola

Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola says the judgment of the Petition Tribunal last Friday, which nullified the of Governor Gboyega Oyetola will not stand.

The tribunal had declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner.

Aregbesola, in a statement Wednesday night by his Media Adviser, Mr. Sola Fasure, said the was a rude shock.

He said the majority judgment, as delivered by their Lordship, did not support the cause of electoral justice and might constitute the death knell for properly conducted elections.

Aregbesola said the people rejected the majority judgment and believe that it would not stand scrutiny at the appellate court.

The statement noted that the majority judgment, which held that the rerun election conducted in seven polling units on the September 27, 2018, was illegal, null and void, was equally shocking and amounts to a travesty of justice.

He said the government would appeal the judgment, adding that the verdict would be upturned.

The former governor wondered why elections in 17 polling units would be annulled when there was no evidence of any act known to render them null and void in an election petition, such as over-voting, non-accreditation, ballot box stuffing among others.

Aregbesola contended that concern for substantive justice should have dictated that since the results from the 17 units were duly signed and adjudged by to be authentic, there should not have been any controversy over there validity.

He lamented that the tribunal has effectively disenfranchised the legitimate voters in the 17 polling units and rendered the election undemocratic.

The statement said: “In nullifying the elections in the 17 polling units, the majority judgment predicated it on what is regarded as ‘substantial non-compliance’ with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010. The said non-compliance, according to the judgment, borders on the failure of INEC’s appointed presiding officers to record accreditation and ballot accounting on the result forms in the 17 polling units.

“There was no evidence of any act known to render election null and void in an election petition such as over voting, non-accreditation, ballot box stuffing etc.

“This much was highlighted in the dissenting judgment of the Chairman of the Tribunal in disagreeing with the majority decision.

“It must be noted that APC and its candidate were not accused of any electoral malfeasance in the 17 polling units. Rather, INEC, a common agent of PDP and APC (and indeed, all the political parties), which neither of the parties has control over was merely accused of not complying with its manual for the election, when the presiding officers appointed for the election failed to make the entries.

“Therefore, the most relevant question one would pose here is: should the tribunal allow APC to suffer as a result of the mistakes or omissions occasioned by the INEC staff? Certainly, no!”

“Equally shocking are the reasons advanced by the two justices. They advanced the proposition that elections in the seven polling units were cancelled by the state collation officer. This was not the case. There were no elections in the seven polling units, and if there was any, the onus was on the petitioners. This onus was not discharged in anyway as no results was tendered.

“The state collation officer in compliance with the margin of lead principle rightly reasoned that the outcomes of the elections could not be determined without conducting polls in the affected elections. Hence the commission’s decision to conduct supplementary elections in line with these principles.”
