APC ORDERS POLICE, DSS TO ARREST AND INVESTIGATE ATIKU…SEE REASONS Atiku2

The All Progressives Campaign Organization who still has problems with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the just concluded February elections has petitioned the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of State Security Service, DSS, to invite, interrogate and investigate the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP leadership and its candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, over their illegal access to the server of the Independent National Electoral Commission, .

Atiku had claimed that he defeated Muhammadu Buhari by about 1.6million votes. He said he got the information from INEC’s server. Making its demands in the petition obtained by DAILY POST, and signed by Festus Keyamo, Director, Strategic Communications, APC Presidential Campaign Council, the party said, “It would be recalled that an Electoral (Amendment) Bill containing the provision for electronic transmission of results to INEC’s central computer system (otherwise called “server”) was sent to Muhammadu Buhari by the National Assembly for assent late in the year 2018.

“Despite the shortness of time before the Presidential/National Assembly Elections, and the lack of time to first simulate the process to ensure its effectiveness in a country like ours with problems of effective networks in many rural areas and constant failure of technological devices, together with its violation of the time frame of such laws as provided for in regional and continental Protocols in terms of the length of time required for the passage of such laws before any major , the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party was hell-bent that the President should sign the Bill into law. That was the first indication that the main opposition was up to something sinister regarding the electronic transmission of the results.

“Upon the last-minute postponement of the February 16, 2019, Presidential/National Assembly Elections, the nation was shocked to see already prepared presidential elections results floating around in the cyberspace just less than 24 hours after the postponed election was originally billed to hold! The fake results had details of the scores of the candidates of the major parties. Of course, the fake results gave victory to the candidate of the PDP, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, even when elections did not hold.

“The only conclusion one can draw from the above is that the PDP had prepared those results which were to be smuggled into the INEC Server. However, the sudden postponement of the election scuttled that evil plan, but it was too late to restrain the release of the fake results.

“The proper elections were held on February 23, 2019 and President Muhammadu Buhari declared the winner. Despite the approval of the elections as credible by nearly all local and international observers (except some few known PDP acolytes masquerading as local observers), the PDP cried foul and made a shocking claim: it claimed that from purported results it obtained from INEC’s server, it has so-called proof that its candidate won the election by about 1.6million votes!

“Shockingly and coincidentally, this margin was about the same margin by which it also purportedly “won” by the fake results released just hours after the postponement of the February 16, 2019 Presidential/National Assembly Elections.

“As if this expensive joke was not enough, the PDP and its Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, have gone ahead to file an Election Petition against the clear victory of President Muhammadu Buhari and have repeated the same outlandish claim of having access to INEC’s server which shows that they have some purported results at their disposal giving “victory” to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

“Sirs, we wish you to note that INEC’s server is the back end of electronic records of INEC. This is not INEC’s website but its server! Although, the purported results have been conclusively shown by public engagements to be false and even ridiculous, especially as the total number of accredited voters is exactly equivalent to the purported votes of the APC and PDP candidates, this criminal claim of the PDP has revealed a few things:

“It is now clear that some criminally-minded PDP operatives have access to the INEC server to be able to smuggle in fake results into that server. The only means by which they could have access to the INEC server is by the criminal hacking of the server or through the criminal conspiracy of some INEC officials.”

“The APC Presidential Campaign Council hereby prays that the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services use your good offices to investigate the hacking of and/or illegal tampering with the INEC server by the PDP. The leadership of the PDP must be invited, interrogated and investigated and those identified as perpetrators must be arrested and prosecuted.

“Opposition is healthy in a democracy but it is not a license for criminality and illegality. A country governed by laws cannot be blackmailed or cowed into indolence by the perceived underdog status of the opposition so as to condone such a blatant criminal claim by the PDP of having illegal access to INEC’s server. “We trust you will act with alacrity.”

ex-senate president warns tinubu against running for president in 2023 Ex-Senate President warns Tinubu against running for President in 2023 tinubu 1024x555

Former Senate , Dr Iyorchia Ayu has warned the national leader of the All Progressives , APC, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, against running for president in 2023.

According to him, Tinubu’s quest to takeover power from President Muhammadu Buhari will erode the political gains he made so far.

He urged the APC national leader to rather support vice president Yemi Osinbajo to succeed President Buhari.

Aye, who also served in three different portfolios as minister in the cabinet of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, also expressed worry that Tinubu has aligned himself with the ‘most backward forces’ in ’s political history.

He said the political group which he has aligned himself with, will soon turn against him.

“Bola Tinubu is my brother, an excellent man, politically clever and hardworking. He has been very successful in his private life.

“But I think like I said in one of my earlier interviews, he has aligned himself with the most backward forces in Nigeria’s political history.

“Rather than liberal and progressive wing of the north, this right wing group he is working with will soon turn against him and destroy him.

“His (Tinubu’s) ambition which is becoming blind will contribute to that self-destruction. He will lose most of what he has gained as a political leader.

“If he has my opinion, I will advise him to continue to play the role of a political leader, but not aspiring to be a government leader.

“He should promote and support the candidature of Yemi Osinbajo, who is obviously an intelligent and competent person,” the ex- Senate President told Nigerian Tribune.

Osun Guber!!! Aregbesola talks about Adeleke’s victory over Oyetola Governor Rauf Aregbesola

Former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola says the judgment of the Petition Tribunal last Friday, which nullified the of Governor Gboyega Oyetola will not stand.

The tribunal had declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as winner.

Aregbesola, in a statement Wednesday night by his Media Adviser, Mr. Sola Fasure, said the report was a rude shock.

He said the majority judgment, as delivered by their Lordship, did not support the cause of electoral justice and might constitute the death knell for properly conducted elections.

Aregbesola said the people rejected the majority judgment and believe that it would not stand scrutiny at the appellate court.

The statement noted that the majority judgment, which held that the rerun election conducted in seven polling units on the September 27, 2018, was illegal, null and void, was equally shocking and amounts to a travesty of justice.

He said the government would appeal the judgment, adding that the verdict would be upturned.

The former governor wondered why elections in 17 polling units would be annulled when there was no evidence of any act known to render them null and void in an election petition, such as over-voting, non-accreditation, ballot box stuffing among others.

Aregbesola contended that concern for substantive justice should have dictated that since the results from the 17 units were duly signed and adjudged by to be authentic, there should not have been any controversy over there validity.

He lamented that the tribunal has effectively disenfranchised the legitimate voters in the 17 polling units and rendered the election undemocratic.

The statement said: “In nullifying the elections in the 17 polling units, the majority judgment predicated it on what is regarded as ‘substantial non-compliance’ with the provisions of the Electoral Act 2010. The said non-compliance, according to the judgment, borders on the failure of INEC’s appointed presiding officers to record accreditation and ballot accounting on the result forms in the 17 polling units.

“There was no evidence of any act known to render election null and void in an election petition such as over voting, non-accreditation, ballot box stuffing etc.

“This much was highlighted in the dissenting judgment of the Chairman of the Tribunal in disagreeing with the majority decision.

“It must be noted that APC and its candidate were not accused of any electoral malfeasance in the 17 polling units. Rather, INEC, a common agent of PDP and APC (and indeed, all the political parties), which neither of the parties has control over was merely accused of not complying with its manual for the election, when the presiding officers appointed for the election failed to make the entries.

“Therefore, the most relevant question one would pose here is: should the tribunal allow APC to suffer as a result of the mistakes or omissions occasioned by the INEC staff? Certainly, no!”

“Equally shocking are the reasons advanced by the two justices. They advanced the proposition that elections in the seven polling units were cancelled by the state collation officer. This was not the case. There were no elections in the seven polling units, and if there was any, the onus was on the petitioners. This onus was not discharged in anyway as no results was tendered.

“The state collation officer in compliance with the margin of lead principle rightly reasoned that the outcomes of the elections could not be determined without conducting polls in the affected elections. Hence the commission’s decision to conduct supplementary elections in line with these principles.”
