While speaking, the Spokesperson of Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, described the claim by the ruling APC as total rubbish, and an attempt to divert attention.

The Afenifere Spokesperson, wondered why the APC never made such claim when Atiku was campaigning for the party, in 2015, but came out when he challenged Muhammadu ’s victory, after the 2019 elections.

According to Odumakin, such claim was an attempt to divert the attention of Nigerians, from Atiku’s queries on the victory of Buhari, at the just concluded 2019 Presidential elections.

He said: “It is pure and applied nonsense, and an attempt to divert attention.

“When Atiku was campaigning with APC all over the country in 2015, and he was donating money to them, they did not realise he was a Cameroonian, but now that he challenged their electoral victory, they suddenly realized he is a Cameroonian.

“This is rubbish, they should respond to the electoral allegations Atiku raised, and face that in court, rather than create all these childish and comic diversions.”

Odumakin also stated that only the Presidential Petition Tribunal can determine the eventual outcome of the 2019 Presidential poll.

He however, urged the Tribunal to be impartial in deciding the eventual winner of the 2019 Presidential election.

“It is left for the Judiciary. We that know what this arm of government has gone through in the last few years, has been appalling.

“There have been attempts to overhaul, decimate, instill fear, and cow the Judiciary, but let us hope that in spite of all, justice will be done.

“Nobody can place a bet on anything for now, but let us hope that the Judiciary will look straight at the law, and take their decision when the time comes”, he said.

ministerial nominees: why senate must return list to buhari – pdp in diaspora Ministerial nominees: Why Senate must return list to Buhari – PDP in Diaspora buhari worried 1024x576

A US-based organization comprising members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, known as PDP Diaspora Initiative has called on the Senate to return the ministerial list back to Muhammadu on the ground that it is lacking in vision and ambition for the nation.

President Buhari had on Tuesday submitted a list of 43 nominees to the Senate for screening and approval.

A statement made available to DAILY POST on Thursday by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Chidi Igwe, the organization said that the list of candidates submitted to the Senate for screening and confirmation betrays the future of Nigeria and has nothing to offer to the nation in the form of change.

The statement added, “In other countries like Canada, France and the United States, women and youth are fully involved in government because they represent the future of the country.

“Why is President Buhari not nominating young people who represent the future of Nigeria? Why is APC robbing Nigeria’s youth of their future?”

The PDP group referred to President Buhari’s previous comments at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London where he allegedly described the Nigerian youth as “lazy and uneducated.”

“Why is the President not including more women in his cabinet?”

The statement also referred to President Buhari’s previous public comment in Germany where he said that the First Lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari belonged in the “kitchen” and “the other room.”

“Why are they recycling these tired APC politicians who have no new ideas to offer and have participated in establishing a culture of corruption and impunity in Nigeria?” Hon. Pamugo asked.

“President Buhari has chosen to recycle these politicians who have been there for too long and have participated in driving the country into the ditch, instead of giving a chance to capable Nigerians who will represent change,”

The statement further referred to the fact that the nominees are a bunch of men, former governors, ministers and APC politicians who have contributed in creating the current problems facing the country.

It added, “Nigerians are suffering from East to West, North to South as a result of lack of vision and leadership from these same APC politicians.

“People have no jobs, no food and no good water to drink.

“There is no reliable power supply for businesses to come and invest in the country. There are no good hospitals, no good public schools.

“We have no good roads. Nigerians are hungry for change. Is this the best that the President can offer to a nation that desperately needs a significant change in direction? As Nigerians in diaspora, we are highly disappointed by this list of recycled APC politicians.

“This list is shortsighted and we reject it. We enjoin the Senate to return it to the President so that he can provide a new list of nominees that will represent the hopes and aspirations of all Nigerians.”
