Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has said that he can’t wait to see Axel Tuanzebe at the club next season.

The 21-year-old central defender is currently at Aston Villa on loan and has made 28 appearances this season.

Villa are currently in the Championship play-offs where they have a 2-1 lead over West Brom from the first leg.

“Hopefully now Axel is going to get to the Play-off final,” Solskjaer told MUTV. “He’s played well, had a couple of injuries, he’s a boy that I can’t wait to see in pre-season for us next year.”

Tuanzebe is a product of the Man United academy and made his debut in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Wigan Athletic in 2017.

Solskjaer is looking to overhaul the United squad following a dismal end to the season and is interested in giving youth chance.

Midfielder Scott McTominay is greatly favoured by the Norwegian, while Andre Gomes and Tahith Chong are also in the manager’s plans.

United have a serious problem in defence, but it is unlikely Solskjaer will be relying on Tuanzebe to solve his defensive problems next season.

The Red Devils conceded 54 Premier league goals this season, more than any other team in the top nine.

It is an embarrassing record, and the former Premier League champions will be eager to avoid it next season.

United are looking to add new defenders to their side with Kalidou Koulibaly of Napoli strongly linked with the club.

The Senegalese international has been superb this season, helping the Serie A side to a series of clean sheets.

The Red Devils are also in the hunt for Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane and may include him in a deal that could see Paul Pogba join the La Liga side.

Pogba has been linked with a move away from United since the last international break and could push for a transfer with the Red Devils out of the UEFA Champions League.

United have already lost Ander Herrera, with the future of Juan Mata not certain.

LaLiga: Zidane reacts as El Clasico fixture with Barcelona is postponed Zidane 1024x576

Real Madrid manager, Zinedine Zidane, has insisted his focus is firmly on Saturday’s LaLiga trip to Mallorca, despite the controversy over the postponement of ‘El Clasico’ later this month.

Los Blancos’ clash with rivals Barcelona is set to be moved to December.

The original clash was called off, due to fears over civil unrest involving pro-independence protesters in Catalonia.

But Zidane said his side will simply “adapt” to any new date.

“In the end, I believe the most important thing is tomorrow.

“We know what has happened in the past two weeks with injured players but we will prepare to play a good game,” Zidane told reporters.

LaLiga: Messi confirms he won’t sign lifetime contract at Barcelona messi

Barcelona captain, Lionel Messi, has said he will not sign a lucrative lifetime deal with the club.

The Catalan club were prepared to offer the deal to their greatest ever player, which would ensure he finishes his football at the Nou Camp.

Messi’s current deal still has two years to run, but Barca are confident that the 32-year-old can still play at his prime beyond the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

However, Messi made a rare public appearance on Argentine radio station Metro 95.1, to feature on the ‘dogs of the street’ broadcast.

And he said: “It is true that Barcelona proposed me a contract for life, but what I said was that I do not want a contract that binds me like that.

“I want to be fine to continue playing and to continue fighting for goals here. Being here I can be for life, but not with a contract. Here I would stay a lifetime.”
