Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea, has finally decided to leave Old Trafford this summer after rejecting the club’s latest contract .

De Gea has drawn interest from Real Madrid in the past few months.

The Sun is now reporting that the Spain international is set to leave Man United after talks over a new contract between him and the club’s board were stalled.

The claimed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side wants to cash in on De Gea during this summer’s transfer window.

DAILY POST had reported last week that Manchester United have submitted a bid to sign Ajax goalkeeper, Andre Onana, as De Gea’s replacement.

De Gea’s current deal with Man United will expire in 2020 after the Red Devils activated an automatic one-year extension earlier this season.

The 28-year-old is demanding a significant increase in his current deal, that would see him earn parity with striker, Alexis Sanchez, who earns a basic salary of £400,000 a week.

But United’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward is not willing to match De Gea’s terms and is now actively seeking replacements.

Heya outstanding blog. Does running a blog like this require a great deal of work? I’ve absolutely no knowledge of programming but I was hoping to start my own blog in the near future. Anyways, should you have any ideas or techniques for new blog owners please share. I understand this is off topic but I simply needed to ask. Appreciate it.

Ronaldo emerges highest-paid footballer ahead of Messi, Neymar ronaldo

Juventus forward, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been named the highest-paid footballer on the planet, in the annual Forbes list published on Friday.

Ronaldo is only second on the list of the best-paid athletes for 2020 behind tennis superstar, Roger Federer.

Federer earned $106.3m (£86.3m) in the last 12 months including $100m (£81.2m) in endorsements.

All that money saw him move up four places and become the first tennis player to top the list.

Ronaldo (£85.3m), Lionel Messi (£84.5m), Neymar Jr. (£77.6m) and American basketball player LeBron James (£71.6m) complete the top five.

“The coronavirus pandemic triggered salary cuts for football stars Messi and Ronaldo, clearing the way for a tennis player to rank as the world’s highest-paid athlete for the first time.

“Roger Federer is the perfect pitchman for companies, resulting in an unparalleled endorsement portfolio of blue-chip brands worth $100m a year for the tennis great,” Kurt Badenhausen, who is a senior editor at Forbes, said.

Japan’s Naomi Osaka (£30.7m), who was ranked 29th on the list, is ahead of another tennis player Serena Williams (£29.5m), as the world’s highest-earning female athlete.

They are the only women on the list.

Tyson Fury gives reason he will knock Anthony Joshua out in 3rd round Joshua 1

British boxer, Tyson Fury, has said that he would knock out fellow countryman, Anthony Joshua, in the 3rd round because the 30-year-old has ‘no footwork’.

Fury also claimed that Joshua has been avoiding to fight him for 5 years.

DAILY POST recalls that Fury and Joshua are both on course for a heavyweight unification fight next year.

Fury knocked out American boxer, Deontay Wilder, in his last fight in Las Vegas last February.

Joshua also defeated Mexican-American boxer, Andy Ruiz Jr, in his last fight in Saudi Arabia last December.

“Anthony Joshua’s style is tailor-made for mine,” Fury told Redknapp’s Home Fixture on Sky Sports.

“He is strong and powerful, but he got no footwork.

“I have been offering to fight Anthony Joshua for the last five years, and it has not happened at all.

“I think I would knock him out in two or three rounds.”
