’s Senate , Dr has finally lost appointment as Ambassador-at-large of the International Human Rights Commission (IHRC) for not meeting up with the necessary protocols demanded of the .

In a letter issued and signed by head of the Nigerian Office, Dr. Friday Sani which was made available to DAILY POST in Abuja on Thursday, Dr Saraki was not forthcoming despite several meetings with officials of the International agency.

The letter further indicated that the had been put on prior notice by the Nigerian Central Office and Africa of IHRC in which he was properly briefed, regretting that the withdrawal of nomination became necessary in line with the protocols of the agency.

Part of the letter reads: “In view of recent event towards perfection of the intended decoration and the overall interest of the organization in Africa and the world, we hereby withdraw your nomination as Ambassador-at-large.”

The letter added that the International Human Rights Commission’s World Secretary-General, Mr. Rafal Marcin Wasik has been informed of the development.

DAILY POST reports last week that Dr. Bukola Saraki was on the verge of losing the international appointment as Ambassador-at-large.

To lead a diplomatic mission as Ambassador-at-large of the IHRC, Saraki would have to be officially decorated by the Secretary-General of the agency, a development that has been elusive since the appointment in March, .

COVID-19: NCDC Confirms 276 New Cases, Total Now 8,344 cov 9

The confirmed cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) have increased to 8,344 in , Tribune Online reports. This is after 276 new infections were recorded in the country on Tuesday.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its verified Twitter handle.

“Till date, 8344 cases have been confirmed, 2385 cases have been discharged and 249 deaths have been recorded in 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

“The 276 new cases are reported from 15 states; 276 new cases of #COVID19; Lagos-161, Rivers-36, Edo-27, Kaduna-19, Nasarawa-10, Oyo-6, Kano-4, Delta-3, Ebonyi-3, Gombe-2, Ogun-1, Ondo-1, Borno-1, Abia-1, Bauchi-1.”

“No new state has reported a case in the last 24 hours,” it said.

The Federal Airports Authority of (FAAN) has said it has put in place arrangements on passenger facilitation, ahead of resumption of flights.

The General Manager Corporate Affairs of FAAN, Henrietta Yakubu, stated this while speaking at an aviation webinar organised by Women in Aviation (WIA) Nigeria with the theme: “Aviation: The New Norm in the post COVID-19.”

Yakubu warned passengers to expect delays and long hours of checks and re-checks from when they arrive the airport until they depart.

She said noted escorts of VIPs would no longer be allowed to follow their principals into the terminal.

“We are going to expect flight delays, flights will experience delays from checks and re-checks. If you are travelling, I will expect a potential traveler to leave home hours before his flight. Why do I say this?

“Because there is going to be a lot of checks in the front of the terminal we have been told that some may activities and procedures will take place in front of the terminal. So air travelers are expected to leave home very early so that they can get to the airport on time,” Yakubu said.
