Chelsea may be on red alert as it seems Brazlian star Philippe Coutinho is stepping up his attempts to seal a transfer away from the Catalan outfit Barcelona this summer, the latest reports from the Spanish press say.
The Brazil international Coutinho has had an unhappy time at the Camp Nou since his departure from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool midway through one campaign, failing to live up to expectations with a host of below-par displays.
Sport recently stated Coutinho was perhaps looking most potentially to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, but also referenced interest from Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.
According to Cadena Ser, the former Reds player has now made it clear to his club management that he is unhappy and wants to leave, with Blaugrana board set to ask for around £80m for him.
While a transfer to the EPL may be complicated as Sport add, it makes sense that the Blues may be in for Philippe Coutinho this summer.
Chelsea have finally lost Belgian star Eden Hazard to La Liga giants Real Madrid, according to the both clubs’ official websites, and Coutinho could be the perfect replacement.
In other news, Turkish club Fenerbahce have reportedly made a loan bid to Chelsea for striker Tammy Abarahm.
According to a Turkish outlet Star, Fener have offered to take the Blues ace on loan for the upcoming season after his impressive campaign with Aston Villa.
Dean Smith’s side are also said to be interested in signing the England U21 international again during the summer, either on a loan or permanent move.
