Barcelona boss, Ernesto Valverde, on Friday said he has grown tired of the ongoing negotiations between his club and Paris Saint-Germain over Neymar, saying he will be glad when the transfer window shuts on September 2.

Barca have less than three days to strike a deal with the Ligue 1 champions over their former player.

“I am really looking forward to that day – September 2 – so that we can all get some rest at last and know what we have for the season as it has gone on too long.

“Neymar is a PSG player and as always we respect all our rivals, but I reiterate that I’m looking forward to this ending once and for all,” Valverde told a news conference ahead of Saturday’s La Liga game away to Osasuna.

When asked to rate out of 10 how bored he was of the transfer speculation surrounding Neymar, Valverde: “Around nine and a half.”

Anthony Joshua reveals health issues, explains why he lost to Andy Ruiz Jr in first match 20191209 043138

Anthony Joshua has finally revealed that he was struggling with “health issues”, on the night he lost his world heavyweight titles to Andy Ruiz Jr.

Having undergone a secret operation and regained his belts by winning Saturday’s rematch, Joshua told the BBC: “I didn’t know what was wrong with me though I’d been having health issues.

“I couldn’t understand why I felt so tired. In the dressing room in New York I was so tired I had to put my head in an ice bucket.”

Rumours abounded over Joshua’s well-being after he was stopped by Ruiz at Madison Square Garden in one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight boxing history.

Joshua, who exacted revenge on Ruiz in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night, repeatedly refused to use any excuses for his loss six months ago.

Comparing his preparation for Saturday night’s fight to that dreaded night in June, the Briton said: “Now I have energy, I haven’t missed a session.’

“After my check-ups, it showed what the problem was and this is what you have to get sorted.

“Even in this camp I had an operation done but as I’d started training in June I had no issues.”

Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has reacted to the club having their transfer ban reduced after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport 20191010 084414

Former Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has reacted to the club having their transfer ban reduced after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Mourinho, now the head coach at Tottenham, insisted that he is not worried by Chelsea having the ban lifted ahead of the January transfer window.

A decision made by the Court of Arbitration for Sport on Friday means that the Blues have had the two-window transfer ban imposed by FIFA reduced by half, allowing them to sign players when the transfer window reopens next month.

But the Portuguese, who has previously managed Chelsea in two separate spells, said the news is of little concern to him.

Asked about the transfer ban being lifted at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Mourinho said:-

“I’m not worried with that. First of all I’m not looking to Chelsea and the distance from them. Between us and Chelsea are still two or three teams, Wolves and United, so we cannot look so high and so far in this moment. So I’m not looking to them at all.

“The second situation for me is that it is not easy to get better players than they have. They have very good players. Even with the ban and a hypothetical multi-million budget to spend I’m not very, very sure they can get much better players than they have.
