The State Police Command has arrested alleged looters of Shoprite, a departmental chain .

Irate Nigerians had attacked South African brands in a reprisal following the recent xenophobia attack in South Africa.

Area Commander of Shangotedo, Gbolahan Olugbemi, said a total of 125 suspects have been arrested in connection with the attack on Shoprite with 90 per cent of the stolen goods recovered.

According to the police, 112 of those arrested were found in possession of stolen items and have been charged to court.

Meanwhile, Lagos State , Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has visited the affected shopping malls.

According to him, at least 5,000 may have lost their jobs as a of the attack on the malls.

A young makeup artist slumped and died yesterday, July 4, while dancing at her birthday party.

 

Deborah Tushima had been counting down to her birthday on her Facebook account. Her birthday came on Saturday, July 4 and she shared new photos of herself on the platform.

She captioned the photos: “So many things to be grateful for, the greatest is the gift of LIFE! Happy birthday to me, pls say a prayer for me.”

COVID-19: RCCG Pastor Adeboye backs lockdown extension of worship centre

Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has backed the extension of lockdown ease of worship centres.

Adeboye, who is the General Overseer of RCCG said the church would abide by the rules issued by the government.

He spoke while delivering a televised message at the July Holy Ghost Service of the church titled: ‘Let there be light 7’.

Papa G.O. as he is popularly referred to said the church would come out victorious at the end of the lockdown.

He assured Christians that the lockdown would turn out to be a time of greater blessings.

He said: “If people know that this lockdown will lead to greater achievement and prosperity, they will embrace it with joy.

“God has been closer to someone more in this lockdown than ever.”

Recall that the State government had last week insisted that worship centres in the state would remain closed.

This was part of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19 in the state.

Meanwhile, the federal government had ordered partial lockdown ease of worship centres across the country, amid the pandemic.
