Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,
Lagos Zonal Office, have arrested 18 (Eighteen) suspected internet
fraudsters.
The suspects are: Abass Mukhtar, Enitan Adekunle, Olakunle Araoyinbo,
Korede Adetule, Christmas Gabriel, Christmas Yole, Christmas Emmanuel
and Harrison Obayogbono. Others are: Victor Kenneth, Adewale Musibau,
Oluwajuwon Shofuyi, Idris Abdulazeez, Oyeku Adeoye, Omilana Adeleke,
Okeke Chucks, Peters Olamide, Abayomi Jones and Usman Olalekan.
The suspects were arrested during a sting operation in the early
hours of Friday, September 27, 2019 at three different locations in the
Alagbado area of Lagos State, following intelligence reports received by
the Commission from concerned members of the public about their alleged
involvement in the criminal activities.
During the raid, about five of the suspects attempted to escape
arrest by taking refuge inside the ceiling of their apartments. They
were, however, immediately apprehended by operatives of the EFCC.
Similarly, operatives of the Cybercrime Section of the Abuja Zonal
Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday
September 24, 2019 raided the residences of suspected internet
fraudsters at No 5 Arbe Saibra Dantata Estate Kubwa, Abuja.
The operation was triggered by intelligence regarding the activities
of the suspects who were placed under close surveillance for weeks. The
suspects arrested are Aifuwa Aisosa, Desmond Imasuen, Usman Malik,
Odiesen Ken, Odiase Emmanuel and Aifuwa Henry.
In the same vein, the Advanced Fee Fraud section of the Abuja Zonal
office on Thursday, September 26, arrested another cybercrime suspect,
Mbaeri Anselm Chukwuma at David Estate, Gwarimpa. Items recovered from
him include a Toyota Rav4, 2 laptops, 2 phones and a Pump Action Rifle
with 2 Cartridges.
The suspects will soon be charged to court.

Police hold 20-year-old man for raping minor in Osun Nigeria Police Force 2
A 20-year-old man simply identified as Abdullateef has been arrested by Osun State police for raping a 10-year-old girl.
It was learnt that the incident happened at Isale Alfa area in Okini Community, Osun State on Thursday.
A resident in the area who confided in our correspondent said, Abdullateef raped Adejoke (not real name) around his residence.
“On Thursday we just see that some police officer in our area arrested Abdullateef after they visited where he raped Adejoke.
The Nation gathered that the father of the victim had reported the matter in Dada Estate police station on Thursday around 4 PM before the suspect was arrested. The victim was taken to the Police Hospital Osogbo for treatment.
The Osun State Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident to our correspondent on Sunday.
She said the Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation into the matter and after that, the suspect will be prosecuted in court.

Osun State Police Command on Wednesday arrainged some of the notorious ‘Apete Isagba’ cult members terrorising Ede town, before a Magistrate Court sitting in Osogbo over alleged armed robbery and murder.

Five of the defendants, Serifu Kasali, Sefiu Alabi, Tirimisiyu Nureini, Taiwo Kareem and Mukaila’s Raji were alleged of killing two persons Omoniyi Olukunle and Tajudeen Lukman by shooting them with a gun in Ede contrary to section 319(1) of the state penal code.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Elisha Olusegun disclosed the five accused persons intended to kill Surajudeen Kareem and Yinusa Sherif by shooting them in the tummy contrary to section 320 of the state criminal law.

The accused persons were majorly in their 20s except 61 years old Raji Mukaila’s and a female teenager, Mariam Later, 19, who was arrainged for being a member of the cult and malicious damage.

The prosecutor also said the five male defendants set ablaze the property of one Quadri Adeleke including a television, a DVD player, a cable television decoder and household chairs, an offence contrary to section 451 of the state criminal law.

He added that the alleged cultist were involved in several armed robbery attack on different individuals in Ede, contrary to Section 1(1)(2)(a)(b) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special Provisions) Act Cap RII Vol. 14 laws of Federation of Nigeria, 2004.

Elisha added that the defendants committed the offences between May 12 and 14 2020 in Ede, Osun state except malicious damage which was committed on May 18, 2020 at about 1pm in the same town.
