A team of detectives, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ikeja Police Station, CSP Gbenga Ogunsaki, has arrested one Deborah Nwachukwu, 23, for stealing a Toyota jeep, cash and items worth N1 million.
DSP Bala Elkana, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, said this in a statement released to newsmen on Sunday.
According to Elkana, the suspect is an indigene of Abia State and resides at 19, Irewale Street, Ipade Area, Lagos.
He further explained that Nwachukwu stole the Toyota Jeep, two Samsung S10, wrist watch, designer perfume and some cash from one Patrick at MKO Abiola Street, off Toyin Street, Ikeja.
He said: “Patrick (the complainant) met Nwachukwu at Shoprite in Ikeja selling some cleaning products for a company around the shopping mall where he invited her to help render home service in cleaning his house for him.
“They agreed for N20,000 as payment for her service. However, Nwachukwu said that the invitation was not just for cleaning of the house but for sexual reasons.
“After the sexual intercourse, she noticed that the complainant was asleep and she quickly took his exotic times, some cash and his Jeep and escaped from the house after locking him up in the room.
“The suspect has been charged to court and remanded in correctional custody.”
In a related development, Elkana said that Police Patrol Team on routine patrol around Community Road, Akoka spotted one Binuye Femi scaling the fence of a student hostel at 63, Community Road.
He said that Femi committed the act with intention to commit felony.
“Investigation is ongoing,” the officer revealed.
The DSP also said that one Adekunle Osun, 35, has been arrested for breaking through the ceiling to gain entrance to the residence of one Lolso Ojo at 28, Shobande Street, Akoka.
“The suspect confessed that he broke through the ceiling in order to steal electronics and money. Investigation is in progress and the suspect will be charged to Court,” Elkana said.

Alleged fraud: EFCC nabs 3 corps members, 19 undergraduates, 10 others [Photos]

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ibadan Zonal Office, on Tuesday, arrested 32 alleged internet fraudsters.

They were apprehended during a raid on their hideout in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The operatives swept on the location after intelligence gathered on their activities.

Three of the suspects say they are members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Nineteen are undergraduates of universities across the country, while the remaining 10 laid claims to sundry vocations.

They were Oyebamiji Francis, Aremo Jeremiah, Ogbonnaya Prosper John, Anuoluwapo Matthew, Oladele Victor, Mumuni Waliyullah, Olawoyin Abiodun, Okuwatoyin Henry, Arisekola Shina, Babarinde Solomon, Samson Gideon.

Others included: Joshua Ola Adebayo, Ajayi Joseph Ajibola, Garba Mojeed, Olatunbosun Tobiloba, Azeez Ridwan, Ajala Timilehin, Adebolapo Bakare, Alaba Gideon, Ogunkeye Olumide, Ogunleke Tolu, Olapade Emmanuel.

Also in custody were Adegoke Aanu Abiodun, Job Ayantoye, Oyebode Pelumi, Babayanju Toluwani, Oladele Ayobami, Omonaiye Abubakar, Sattong Baking, Abisoye Kehinde, Iwajomo Nathan and Aniyikaye Tope.

EFCC disclosed that 12 exotic cars, several phones, laptops and some incriminating documents were recovered from them.

The agency said all were subjected to thorough screening by medical officials of the EFCC in line with the COVID-19 prevention protocols.

The suspects would be charged to court after conclusion of investigations.

BREAKING: One dead in Lagos tanker accident

No fewer than one person died in a petrol tanker accident that occurred at Mile 2 area of Lagos State.
The PUNCH gathered that a yet-to -be -identified female died in the accident.
A spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency , Nosa Okunbor, confirmed the incident on Friday .
He noted that emergency responders were at the scene of the incident .
“ LASEMA Response Team is at Mile 2 , inward the Nigerian Army Signal Barracks in recovery operation of a fully -loaded Oil Tanker conveying 55 ,000 litres of petrol involved in a lone accident which killed a female adult , ” he added.
