The Federal Polytechnic Student Government inauguration of the -2020 executive officers took place on Thursday, 07 November , consisting of Introduction and speeches from the Outgoing and new executive officers about their visions and excitement for the coming year.

The inaugural ceremony, held in ETF Hall, swearing in ceremony (Administration of Oath) done by the Polytechnic lawyer and the transfer of power from the previous executive staff to newly elected Student Comr. Ajibola Quazeem (Kazywhite), Student Lawyer Comr. Ajayi Oluwajide Tosin (Rock J)  and Speaker of the Student Oladepo Jamiu Adeniyi. Other executives serving were also inaugurated.

After the procession of the new members, President Ajibola Quazeem(Kazywhite) made his opening remarks, speaking about the importance of serving in the public sector.

The new president, Student union Ajibola Quazeem in his acceptance speech reiterated his resolve to make the Federal  Polytechnic Ede greater and maintain peace and unity. While reaffirms his willingness to drive common aim irrespective of divergent views,saying that we must collectively stand and be ready to implement them. “United we stand divided we ” Let us do it together so that we can be congratulated some day.

A Magistrates’ Court sitting in Osogbo, the Osun State capital on Thursday, remanded three people for allegedly involving in malpractice during West Africa Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

The defendants were; Taofeek Badmus Busari, Adeyinka Afolabi Adeoye and Sulaiman Isah.

According to the charge sheet, the defendants, and many others presently at large were said to have committed the alleged offense on 17th September, during WASSCE examination by licking exams questions to candidates through online platforms, thereby aided cheating as well as causing disorderliness.

It stated that the offence was contrary to and punishable under section 1( d) and punishable under section 1 (2) (c) of the examination malpractice Act .1999.

The trio, however, pleaded not guilty to the four -count charge, bordering on conspiracy, breach of peace and examination malpractice leveled against them, as defence counsels, Kehinde Ajibola, Dolapo Awoyemi and Temitope Ayodele, jointly applied for bail for the defendants in the most liberal and affordable terms.

Meanwhile, the Department of State Security(DSS) prosecutor, opposed the bail application by urging the court to remand the accused persons for the purpose of concluding investigation.

The Magistrate, Mrs Adijat Oloyede, therefore, ordered that the defendants should be remanded at correctional centre .

The case was then adjourned till January 9, 2020 for hearing.
