The Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, trophy has been stolen from the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) headquarters in Cairo.

According to Local reports, the Former Egyptian Football Association, EFA, Vice-president who is also the current ONTime Sports broadcaster, Ahmed Shobir, said the Africa Cup of Nations trophy disappeared from the headquarters of the EFA.

According to him, they were informed by an employee inside the association that it was last held by former Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan who refuted this claim.

He also said the EFA are currently investigating the matter.

“The EFA started looking for some trophies with the aim of putting them in a notable museum inside the EFA.

“However, the EFA was surprised to find that the AFCON trophy was lost and decided to open an investigation.

“They were informed by an employee inside the association that it was last held by former Egypt captain Ahmed Hassan.

“Hassan however, denied the claims stating that he kept the trophy at home after winning the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2010 but returned it back to the Egyptian Football Association in 2011.

“As it stands Nobody knows where is the trophy at the time being,” he said.

Bayern Munich suffer 4-1 loss to end long unbeaten run

Quadruple winners Bayern Munich slumped to a shock 4-1 loss at Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga on Sunday to end their 32-match unbeaten run in all competitions stretching back to last year.
Bayern Munich, winners of the UEFA Super Cup against Sevilla after extra time on Thursday, had not lost since Dec. 7, 2019.
They had gone 21 consecutive Bundesliga matches without defeat, winning their last 15.
The European champions conceded two goals in eight minutes as their usually solid defence collapsed under Hoffenheim pressure.

Ermin Bicackcic put them ahead in the 16th minute and Manus Dabbur doubled the lead.
Joshua Kimmich cut the deficit with a superbly curled shot into the top corner in the 36th minute and Bayern Munich missed several good chances to level early in the second half.
But Andrej Kramaric, who had earlier hit the post, killed off their hopes in the 77th minute.
He controlled a cross with his back to the goal and turned beautifully to beat goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

Football star Zlatan Ibrahimovic contracts COVID-19

AC Milan striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has tested positive for coronavirus, according to the confirmed.

The announcement comes just hours before Milan are due to take on Norwegian side FK Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League third qualifying round on Thursday.

The club said that they have informed the “relevant authorities” and Ibrahimovic will now enter a period of quarantine at home.

Milan added that no other members of the squad have tested positive in the latest round of testing, although defender Leo Duarte did return a positive result on Wednesday and has already begun isolating.

Ibrahimovic has scored three goals in Milan’s first two games of the season, including both in their 2-0 win over Bologna in their first Serie A match of the season.

The 38-year-old former Sweden international signed a new one-year deal at the San Siro this summer following his successful return to the club from the LA Galaxy in January.
