FPE: Students blows hot on ASUP threatening to embark on strike over SUG president’s action

Federal Polytechnic Ede students have taken to social media to express just how upset they are over the issue going on between  Student Union Government (SUG) President  and the Academic Staff Union (ASUP), as ASUP threatening to embark on strike

The ASUP Chairman, Mr Masopa Nurudeen, who said at a press conference after the union congress on Saturday in Ede, that union would withdraw its services by midnight of Sept. 10.

Students have now taken to social media to lament on the press statement of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics, Ede chapter to back up their proposed protest and denied thousands of students freedom to write their exams on Monday because the ASUP chairman wants to punish the SUG President.

ASUP chairman accused the student union President, Comr. Rufai Lukman (Siwes) that he vandalized the property of their member.

Comr. Chocomilo, who posted: The SUG President deflated the tyres of a car owned by a lecturer because he parked at the roadside in front of the SUG building where there are two signposts of “No parking” because the road is curve and prone to accidents. Many students have fallen victims of road accident because moving cars find it difficult to turn easily whenever a car is parked.

Others also called on the Students to stand up for the SUG President and act decisively on the matter.
