The Senior pastor of Divine Mercy Church, Olatobiloba Peters, on Thursday, warned that Boko Haram and ISWAP may take over the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government.

Prophet Peters said Boko Haram may toll the path of Talibans in Afghanistan to replicate the same feat in Nigeria.

He pointed out that terrorists freed by the United States, US, government are responsible for taking over Afghanistan.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the clergyman cautioned the Nigerian government against granting freedom to Boko Haram members.

According to Peters, trying to reintegrate repentant Boko Haram members into the society would spell doom for the country.

Peters said: “The Nigerian government should sit up because what we saw in Afghanistan is very possible here.

“ISWAP and Boko Haram can grow into a force that will take over this government. How can a reasonable government try to integrate repentant terrorists into the same society that they killed so many people?

“This is unacceptable and that was how Taliban started. Obama had granted some Taliban leaders amnesty and those freed returned to become the monsters that took over a whole government and country.

“I speak as a prophet, Buhari and his government should be very careful with the handling of Boko Haram or ISWAP as they are now called because the same thing can happen in Nigeria.”

The Taliban terrorist organisation had last week overthrown the government of Afghanistan.

They took over the country’s Presidential Villa, thereby forcing the president to flee to Oman.
