The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared results in 26 out of the 29 states where governorship elections were held across the country.
While 22 were declared after elections held March 9, a further four were declared today (Sunday) after supplementary elections were held.
The electoral body had declared elections inconclusive in the six states of Adamawa, Bauchi, Benue, Plateau, Kano and Sokoto states after a clear winner could not emerge in each of the states.
INEC also suspended collation and announcement of results in Rivers state after violence broke out.
Asides these states, 7 state who run a staggered governorship election mode did not also have elections.
The states are Ekiti, Edo, Ondo, Kogi, Osun, Bayelsa and Anambra states.
Prior to the conduct of the governorship election, the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC was controlling 22 states, while the main opposition, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP was controlling 13 states.
The All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA was controlling a sole state, which was Anambra.
Looking at the 26 state where elections held alone, the APC controlled 14, while the PDP controlled 12.
With the results announced so far, the APC lost Oyo and Imo to the PDP, while the party also won Gombe and Kwara from the main opposition.
The PDP is also poised to win in Adamawa and Bauchi states where supplementary elections were held yesterday.
Declaration of winners in both states which presently have APC governors is been delayed by separate court orders.
The PDP is also set to win in Rivers state when collation and announcement of results resume in May.
From the results released the APC won in 15 states, while the PDP won in eleven states, which may likely increase to 14 states.

Borno, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Plateau, Yobe, Zamfara.
Abia, Akwa Ibom, Benue, Cross River, Delta, Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Oyo, Sokoto, Taraba.
