COMMUNAL CLASH IN IREPODUN LOCAL GOVERNMENT,THE TIMELY INTERVENTION OF MR GOVERNOR IS LOFTY

COMMUNAL CLASH Over three days ago,there was pandemonium between Erin Osun and Ilobu both of Irepodun local government over who owns Awesin area.

The clash that later turned to war ensued when the delegation of National population Census on pre-census mission of both towns met at Awesin to capture datas of the households in the area.

Before a twinkle of an eye, gunshots have begun and people are being matcheted in the area. Over 72 hours now,houses,cars and shops have been burnt to ashes.

As at the time of filing this report,the two communities have lost several human beings while so many persons sustained various injuries. Properties worth millions of Naira have also been lost to the war.

Just yesterday’s evening,the governor of the state,Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola declared curfew in the three communities of Ilobu,Erin and Ifon osun and peace making intervention was brought to the warring communities and soldiers have taken over the area to restore peace and enforce curfew.

In his reaction and intervention,the youth assembly of Nigeria,Osun state chapter’s speaker sued for peace in the warring communities saying there is no alternative for peace as peace is the only bane of development. He also called on the governor of the state, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola to put more reinforcement to further curtail future occurrence of communal class and the speaker of youth assembly of Nigeria,Osun state chapter,RT Hon Akande Dan Evidence called the two Kabiesi involved to shelthe their swords in the interest of development and peace. He made it known that we should be more of brother’s keepers than fighting an unnecessary war at this time in the history of our development -.COMMUNAL CLASH
